Bright Neon Spots Manicure - with Born Pretty Nail Art

Another bright Nail Look for Summer, this manicure was created using Seche Porcelain, an opaque white nail polish and multi coloured circular nail art flecks which were sent for review from the Lovely people at Born Pretty Store.

How:
  • Apply 1 coat of Base Coat (I use Seche Retain)
  • Apply 2-3 coats of white opaque nail polish (Seche Porcelain) ensuring you have an even opaque finish
  • Apply Seche Vite to the area you want to stick the nail decals
  • Using A hoof stick Carefully apply the Decals to your chosen area, or if you want a more random coverage you can dip your nail into the pot of nail decals
  • Apply 1 coat of Seche Vite and allow to dry completely

The multi coloured circular glitter flecks come in two sizes 1mm and 2mm, the picture below gives u a better idea of the sizes and colours.

The box is packed with literally thousands of these little flecks, so you can get loads of uses from them. They are also very versatile, you can apply them with a hoof stick for precise placement, or even pour them into a clear nail polish bottle to create a seriously funky nail decal polish for layering. I opted to go with a white base as it seemed more fitting for a bright summer manicure, but I'm sure these would look just as awesome over an opaque black for a bright 80s themed manicure!

These Nail Decals cost $4.36 and you can find them over here, if you do decide to try these nail decals out please don't forget to use your exclusive coupon code CEB10 for an extra 10% off To see more great Nail Art sets from Born Pretty click here

Halloween Nail Art 2011 - With OPI Spookettes Collection

An Alternative Glow In The Dark French Manicure for Halloween:

First up I applied Nail Tek Foundation as base coat, then 2 coats of Mummy Knows Best. Once dry I applied 3 coats of Zom-Body To Love, followed by the spider nail decal once dry (See bottom of post for tips on decal application).

I applied black tips freehand using I Only Date Werewolves, (mini bottle brushes are brilliant for french tips) followed by Seche Vite Top coat:

On the back of the box, they have several nail art suggestions to create using the polishes and decals from this set, I went with welcome To Spider's Corner (See photo below) but I opted for standard french tips over the chevrons.

Water Nail Decals:

You Also get a set of water nail decals with the Spookettes Collection, there are two of each design so ten in total, the bat spider web and spider are all black and the jack o lantern and trick or treat are white. They are pretty easy to apply, you peel off the see through sheet, cut out the decal you wish to use and place it in warm water for 10 seconds. Then you dampen the (fully dry) nail you wish to apply the decal to, peel off the decal (it slides off easily) and apply it to the nail. Once you've got it positioned where you want it you just dab it dry and apply top coat. I used tweezers to make it easier to apply the decals.

OPI Spookettes set consists of 4 mini polishes, (1 is a glow in the dark colour) and a sheet of Halloween themed water nail decals. To see more swatches of all the colours from this range click here or the photo

NOTD - A Manicure For Audrey, with China Glaze For Audrey

A Breakfast at Tiffany's Inspired manicure :) was recently tidying up my computer drawers when I found some old see through label paper I'd not used for ages, and as I was currently wearing China Glaze For Audrey, I was suddenly inspired to create a manicure "For Audrey" :D hope you like it! Top Coat Seche Vite
printed labels cut to size and applied using a hoof stick

Neons are notoriously hard to photograph, and the effect in real life is a lot more vibrant, think of a peach coloured high lighter, and just in case here is the rest of the China Glaze Poolside collection swatches. All three coats.

2. China Glaze Poolside Collection 2010: Towel Boy Toy

First NOTD and KOTD - a couple of French Manicures

First NOTD is a standard french manicure,

OPI Chip Skip
Base coat: Nail Envy 1 coat
French Base: OPI Soft Shades Passion 1 coat
Tips: OPI Alpine Snow (freehand, I need to work on this :) ) 1 coat
Top Coat: OPI Princesses Rule 1 coat
Top Coat: OPI Rapid Dry

Felt the need to jazz it up a bit so I added an Elegant Touch: White Petals Nail Art sticker on the ring finger:

zoomed in

applied one more coat of OPI Rapid Dry on top

Really like the elegant touch decals, they are very easy to apply (literally just used the tip of my nail to pick the sticker up), and although the edges are quite apparent in the photo its really not very noticeable in real life :)
To remove the decal I just pressed on the nail with a cotton pad soaked in remover until it came loose, no damage at all to the nail beneath, it's better to do that then to try peel it off, which could damage the nail.

KOTD
My first Konad French Manicure kit had just arrived so the next French Mani was done using plate M62, bear in mind this was done after some excessive staining from a very old yellow Barry M polish which totally stained my poor nails :(

Base coat: Nail Envy 1 coat
French Base: OPI Kyoto Pearl 4 coats (takes quite a few coats to get this one opaque)
Tips: Konad Special Stamping Polish in White and plate M62
Top Coat: OPI Rapid Dry

both manis went for about 4/5 days with very minimal tip wear :)
