Dupes: Not got Bad Fairy?? The Show Must Go On! :D

It is well known that Mac's Bad Fairy is one of the most coveted hard to find polishes out there, and although Formidable and Mean & Green dupes can be found in the Orly Cosmic FX range (click here to see swatches from that range) there is no sign of a Bad Fairy Dupe (at least I haven't come across one) however while recently trying out OPI's The Show Must Go On, from the new Burlesque collection, the overall effect of the polish seemed very similar, although the colour is definitely a lighter shade. This got me thinking :D

Here are the bottles side by side, they do indeed look quite similar, but there is a noticeable difference when applied to nails.

no flash to show duochrome golden shades

So I tried applying China Glaze's Liquid Leather (black creme polish) underneath The Show Must Go On, and the effect is very close! (all applied with Nail Envy as base and Seche Vite Top Coat)

Flash Pics
Thumb & Middle Finger: Mac Bad Fairy 3 coats
Index and Ring Finger: 2 coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather and 2 coats of OPI The Show Must Go On
Pinkie: 3 coats of The Show Must Go On

The Difference is definitely more noticeable with the flash pics than it is in real life, I think one more coat of The Show Must Go On would have resolved this a bit more.
Now for the exciting bit, pics without flash :D

No Flash

Middle Finger: Mac Bad Fairy 3 coats
Index and Ring Finger: 2 coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather and 2 coats of OPI The Show Must Go On
Pinkie: 3 coats of The Show Must Go On

Without a flash, its very hard to tell the difference between the index, middle and ring finger at all, but you can clearly see that The Show Must Go On is a lot lighter on its own without the black base coat on the pinkie.

Duochrome goodness shots :D

From these pics you can see the gold flash on Bad Fairy is a little lighter, but once again the photographs show this difference a lot more than you would notice in real life.
Even without the black base coat The Show Must Go On, is an awesome colour, definitely one of the most exciting non glitters from the Burlesque Collection!
