NOTD OPI Absolutely Alice

Today's NOTD is Absolutely Alice from OPI Alice in Wonderland Collection, which was released a while back, I have to admit I was a little late getting my hands on these, but I'm sure glad I did, here are some photos :D

Absolutely Alice is an absolutely gorgeous Medium Blue packed with Shimmery blue glitter flecks that flash lots of different shades of blue and also has gold glitter scattered throughout. Like most OPI glitters this one is wearable at 2 coats and fully opaque at 3, application is really good for a glitter and its easy to apply nice even coats, one top coat of Seche Vite also helps to give a nice smooth finish! The glitter particles are quite small, and shockingly it was a little easier to remove than most glitter polishes, definitely a plus! I adore this colour, for those of you who've seen OPI Reflecting Pool, Absolutely Alice is like it's bolder blingier sister, some comparison pics will follow soon!

Franken number 2: Valhalla Sky

Here's my second attempt at frankening, I have to admit, I'm pretty hooked :) I've named this one Valhalla Sky. I'm going to try and remember all the polishes I used and add them to this post a bit later :)

Valhalla Sky

Valhalla Sky turned out to be a deep magenta shimmery purple with blue sparkle (you probably have to click to see the blue shimmer) I used an old OPI Rapid Dry Bottle to make the franken, the brush is pretty thick, but it wasn't too hard to apply, and opaque at 2 coats :D I'm quite happy with how this one turned out, I'm not sure if its entirely unique but I can never have enough purple shimmers :D Hope you guys enjoy it!

Zoya Sunshine Week Part 6 - Zoya Faye

And now for the final polish from the Zoya Sunshine Collection, and I think I've saved the best for last, here is Zoya Faye:

Even though I absolutely adore all the other polishes in this collection, there is something very special about Faye, a gorgeous red tinged mauve shade packed with golden shimmer, this one seriously flashes gold when it catches the light making it look very duochrome in effect. This is probably the most unique shade out of the collection. This was opaque in 3 coats.

I hope you've enjoyed these Zoya Sunshine collection swatches, definitely one of the best collections for the summer so far, these bottles literally look like they are packed with liquid sunshine!! next up: my easter manicure :D

Zoya Sunshine Week Part 5 - Zoya Reva

Happy Easter! I'm going to try and do an easter themed mani later today :D but first up Zoya Sunshine Week continues, so here is Zoya Reva, another red shade from the collection:

Zoya Reva is a deep berry red shade packed with gold and red shimmer, (the gold shimmer was a little hard to capture in these photos), like most of the shades in this collection, there is a real summery fruity feel to this polish! This was opaque at 3 coats, with a slightly thick consistency similar to the rest from the Sunshine Collection.

Zoya Sunshine Week Part 4 - Zoya Kimmy

Zoya Kimmy is the next polish from the Sunshine Collection, the first red from the collection.

Zoya Kimmy is a gorgeous cocktail of bright red with orange undertones, and that gorgeous sunshine golden shimmer that all polishes from Sunshine have, it really gives them all a very unique and special edge! Opaque at 3 coats. Although I'm not an avid fan of orange based reds, the shimmer in this one makes it stand above the rest, and is a very wearable summer shade!

Some of the photos tend to make Kimmy a little more orange than she is in real life, the non flash natural light photo above is a better indication of the red tone in this polish, the golden sparkle is definitely more apparent in real life with this polish.

Zoya Sunshine Week Part 3 - Zoya Rica

Next up from Zoya Sunshine is the lovely Rica:
Zoya Rica is a gorgeous coral pink shade (a little more pink than the first and last photo the 2nd is most colour accurate) packed with a golden/copper sparkle, another one of my faves from this collection, I really love pink polishes with gold tones, there's something so pretty and summery about them! This was opaque in 3 coats.

Zoya Sunshine Week Part 2 - Zoya Tanzy

Next up in Zoya Sunshine week is Zoya Tanzy, a vibrant tangerine orange packed with golden shimmer particles, like all the polishes in this collection the golden shimmer really gives this polish a liquid sunshine effect making it perfect for the sunny weather!

This was opaque in about 3 coats, I guess if you're really fussy there would be absolutely no VNL at 4 coats, but I think it looks fine in three :) consistency wise this polish is more on the thick side, so its best to try and apply the coat as thinly as possible to get a nice even coverage. I'm loving this orange shade, I think it would look awesome with a tan, must get out in the sunshine a bit more :D

Zoya Sunshine Week Part 1 - Zoya Apple

First up thanks to everyone for the get well wishes, my thumb is doing a lot better, and I can actually put on polish :D horay, might be a little longer before I can tackle some Konading but I am hopeful :D

So the sun is beaming in ole London Town, and my set of Zoya Sunshine Polishes arrived a few days ago, so I thought it would be nice to do some back to back swatches from this gorgeous collection, and try to post a polish a day :)

The Sunshine Collection is one of the parts of Zoya's summer 2011 collection, (the other set is called Summertime and is packed with lovely creme shades), but as I cannot resist a bit of sparkle I opted for the Sunshine Collection, a very aptly named collection as each colour is packed with gorgeous golden sparkle. First up is the colour I was most excited about from this collection: Apple,

Zoya Sunshine - Apple
Zoya apple is a gorgeous cool toned emerald green absolutely packed with golden shimmer, which gives this a slight light/dark green duochrome effect. It looks stunning in the sunshine and is definitely one of the best from the Sunshine Collection. For some reason the consistency on all these polishes made me think of jelly, they are a little on the gloopy side but I had no problem with application, this was 3 coats, and I'm quite happy with the opacity :D

Zoya Holiday Gift Set - Yasmeen Polish and Hocus Pocus Lip Gloss

I'd been searching for Zoya Yasmeen, a gorgeous shimmery deep purple shade for quite a while now, a few months ago I spotted it on http://www.nailetc.com as part of a Zoya Holiday Gift Set, paired with a lip gloss, I noticed the bottle was a mini, but I'm pleased to say Zoya minis are a lot larger than your average mini polish: 7.5ml (thats over double an OPI mini) and the brush in their mini bottles is the same size as the standard Zoya brush, so considering how hard it was to find Yasmeen, I decided to give this gift set a go:
Zoya Holiday Gift Set: Hocus Pocus Lip Gloss & Zoya Yasmeen mini polish

Zoya Yasmeen
This was 3 coats, there are so many shimmery dimensions to Yasmeen, my eyes never tire from staring at her! Yasmeen is a rich deep purple shade with hints of red/berry shimmer, packed with depth, definitely one of the best purple Zoyas I can see why I found it so hard to get my hands on this one! :)

and here's a look at the Hocus Pocus lip gloss on:
My first time trying to take lip photos lol, so excuse the fact that they aren't too great, I do love this gloss though, application is a little tricky as it just pops out a small hole in the tube, its not really shaped like a lip gloss so you'll prob need to use your fingers to spread it, but I love it! Its a little on the sticky side, but that just means it doesn't rub off immediately which is always good, colour wise its quite a subtle shimmer, not as dark as a look at the bottle might suggest. I do love the shimmer though, it really sparkles in the sun and is still a subtle everyday friendly shade :D!!

Have you picked up any of the other holiday gift sets? What do you think of Yasmeen, is she a must have purple :) thanks for reading, and for those interested my thumb is healing nicely :D should be back to painting in no time, then I can finally start those Konad Plate Reviews I promised :D

NOTD - Make Up Store Britta (pink holographic)

Make Up Store had an awesome 20% promo when I was in there last so I couldn't resist picking up a couple more holographic polishes from their awesome line of PERMANENT linear holo polishes. So here is Britta, a pink holographic polish, I absolutely adore this colour!!! here are some sun, shade and indoors pics hope you enjoy :D

sunshine no flash

shade no flash
As with most linear holos it's best not to use a top coat or normal base coat (aqua base works well so does matte top coat as a base coat) but top coat dulls the holo a lot!

apologies for the lack of posts, I had a rather unfortunate accident stabbing my right thumb with a dinner fork :S oops!!! So typing was very hard initially, getting a bit easier though :) Will hopefully announce the winner of my GOSH holographic competition very soon :D

EDIT:
Thought I'd add a link to my other post featuring Make Up Store Siw (blue holographic) just in case you wanted to check out a different colour from this range, click on the pic to go to the post :D
